OK, here I go again. I am creating this thread so we can talk about KDE-4.2.x (yes, all versions inside the 4.2.something "line").

Yesterday I compiled and packaged KDE-4.2.1. Now I am testing it and as soon as possible I will upload it to the repository, of course i will let you know.

Let's see how well it runs

Not that I have noticed, Steve. But I really had little time to test it. All I can say for now is "it is pretty stable to me".

But then... 4.2.0 was stable also

Great work, Kenjiro, will install it soon. Congratulations on your work. I trust you it is good Anyway, I may be mistaken but after I installed kde 4.2.0 the internet became somehow slow...I mean, mostly when I try to connect to a site (no matter which) it takes an unusual amount of time until the page is completely opened...When I used kde 3.5.10 it did not take no unusual time. It was very very quick...

cezar, I haven't noticed anything like that. And I use firefox most of the time (which I believe would work equally, be it kde-3.5.x or kde-4.2.x). I haven't tested konqueror all that much, but it feels normal to me too.

Thanks Arny for the tip. I have disable the Desktop Effects and, indeed, it has improved a lot the speed...

'konsole' doesn't remember the profil, so you always got the gray color. I don't know if this is fixed in 4.2.1, actually I'm using 4.2.0

A small addition...

For those who might want a new splash screen for their KDE-4.2.x, yesterday I created an early version of one dedicated to our beloved distro

To download version 0.1, go here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ezmgmoomcq3

Oppinions are welcome, even if you are going to say the splash screen sucks *LOL*
