Native 64-bit flash plugin!

NEW! Starting from today, Nov 17 2008, ADOBE has released (alpha version) a 64-bit Flash Player plugin. You can download from here: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html

So, far so good here on Bluewhite64 12.1 and -current

-------------------------------------------------------------------
HowTo run 64-bit Firefox with Flash (32-bit)

1. Read
IA32-EMULATION.TXT to install/enable the IA32-emulation for Bluewhite64 12.0
IA32-EMULATION.TXT to install/enable the IA32-emulation for Bluewhite64 12.1
IA32-EMULATION.TXT to install/enable the IA32-emulation for Bluewhite64 12.2

2. Download nspluginwrapper-0.9.91.5-1.x86_64.rpm, nspluginwrapper-i386-0.9.91.5-1.x86_64.rpm and Flash install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz to a local folder (ex: /home/user/nspw)

3. Convert the packages to .tgz format using rpm2tgz

  rpm2tgz nspluginwrapper-0.9.91.5-1.x86_64.rpm
  rpm2tgz nspluginwrapper-i386-0.9.91.5-1.x86_64.rpm

4. Install the converted packages:

  installpkg nspluginwrapper-0.9.91.5-1.x86_64.tgz
  installpkg nspluginwrapper-i386-0.9.91.5-1.x86_64.tgz

5. Untar the install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz

6. Cd into install_flash_player_9_linux directory and copy "libflashplayer.so" file into the /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins folder;

7. Run
nspluginwrapper -i /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so

If you did not get any error messages and you are returned to the promp, then you
successfully installed the plugin.

6. Copy the "/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/npwrapper.libflashplayer.so" file to
/usr/lib/firefox-2.0.0.14/plugins and start Mozilla Firefox

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you upgrade Firefox then you have to move the npwrapper.libflashplayer.so to the new firefox directory.

EX: if you upgrad Firefox 2.0.0.13 to Firefox 2.0.0.14 then you have to move npwrapper.libflashplayer.so from /usr/lib/firefox-2.0.0.13/plugins to /usr/lib/firefox-2.0.0.14/ !!!

DO NOT MOVE THE libflashplayer.so FILE, THIS MUST STAY IN /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For Konqueror, go to Settings->Configure Konqueror->Plugins and press Check For New Plugins. Exit and start Konqueror again.

For Seamonkey, just open the browser and go to youtube.com and watch any video you like.
